This Group was established on August 17th, 1985 with 75 initial members. The SATAMPANG BANIAH, a, distinctively unique name, it was pioneered by a family renowned as "Theater Family". This family is so familiar with the world of arts, especially Traditional Dance Drama of Minangkabau.

Minangkabau tradition has culture value highly, as the culture show to dinamic way of life, there are many universal social messages who give light to every body, in this modern era we try to exist and develope this culture became beautifull traditional dances who has spirit.
